Tom joined Bruner-Cox LLP in 1973. Tom began his career in assurance services. As a manager in assurance, he assumed responsibilities for clients in manufacturing, wholesale-distribution and construction industries. He is now in charge of the management consulting service practice. Tom’s expertise includes his involvement in more than 200 business valuations, litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, and numerous modeling and forecasting projects.
Once Tom became partner, his first project was the development of the Firm’s management consulting services practice group, and setting the standards for all of the consulting services provided by the Firm. Tom also oversees the operation of Bruner-Cox LLP’s affiliate company, Creative Financial Staffing of Northeastern Ohio, Ltd. (CFS), which helps companies successfully manage their accounting functions. CFS specializes in the temporary and permanent placement of accounting and financial personnel.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from The University of Akron. Tom is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and is certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) from The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Tom is a frequent speaker and author on the topic of business valuations. He is also a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the AICPA Consulting Service Division and The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Tom is past chief volunteer officer for the YMCA of Central Stark County and is active in the Canton Rotary Club.
