Redesigned Form 990 On December 20, 2007, the IRS released the redesigned Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax. Organizations will begin using the new form for returns filed in 2009. The Form 990 states your case for retaining tax-exempt status and is important in maintaining your reputation, credibility and goodwill. In this informative presentation, Anna Capaldi, CPA, MT, Bruner-Cox LLP Senior Tax Manager, will discuss the new 2008 Form 990 and the tools your board and management need to prepare for the updated compliance requirements.
New 403 (b) Plans Sponsors of 403(b) benefit plans will encounter significant changes to the regulatory requirements of their plans as early as December 31, 2008. In this presentation, Kara Shadeed, CPA, MBA, Bruner-Cox LLP Supervisor and Employee Benefit Plan Coordinator, will discuss n ew Form 5500 requirements, including a potential audit requirement and reporting of participant and financial information, new plan sponsor responsibilities and a suggested action plan.
